by Hans Diederichs

All figures are up significantly for the record edition of Made in Steel since 2005, the main Conference & Exhibition in Southern Europe dedicated to the steel industry. The event, which ended on Thursday 16 May after three days of business and conferences, was attended by 16,520 visitors, with an increase by 12.3% compared to the 2017 edition, when it reached 14,714 visitors, with 26% foreign attendance. This constant growth confirms the success of the formula and the choice of the pavilions of fieramilano Rho, for an event which is unique at European level both for its aesthetics and the quality of contents.

The progress in the number of visitors is in line with all the other indicators: 12,800 square meters, up 10% compared to the 2017 edition (11,670), on a gross area of about 40,000 square meters; more companies present (312 compared to 270 in 2017) and more foreign exhibitors (23%, 72 versus 46 in 2017).

The eighth edition of Made in Steel, which was entitled "STEEL HUMAN – Sustainability and innovation", featured an exhaustive calendar of conferences for all the protagonists of the supply chain, players and visitors, with more than 40 speakers on the stage of the siderweb Conference Room and the annual meeting of Assofermet. Among the speakers, the protagonists of the Italian and European steel industry (Alessandro Banzato, Federacciai president and CEO Acciaierie Venete; Fernando Espada, president Eurometal; Antonio Gozzi, president Gruppo Duferco; Matthieu Jehl, CEO ArcelorMittal Italia; Antonio Marcegaglia, president Marcegaglia Group; Alessandro Trivillin, CEO Danieli).

"The presence of visitors during the three day event, the quality of contents, the beauty of the stands and the perceptible feeling of positivity in the pavilions confirm the success of the 2019 edition of Made in Steel and the module conceived by the team of siderweb for the main Conference & Exhibition in Southern Europe dedicated to the steel industry," said Emanuele Morandi, president and CEO of Made in Steel. "A formula that is based on content, business and relationships. For us, it is a big satisfaction and an encouragement to do even better, to best represent our supply chain and to grow at international level".

The next edition of the event, the ninth, will be held in 2021.
