SSAB presents productivity apps at the bauma Munich 2019

by David Fleschen

At this year's bauma Munich SSAB presents a series of free apps that help users increase their productivity. The apps are available on the App Store and on Google Play. The apps do calculations for the users and calculate the savings that can be made by using SSAB's high strength steels Hardox® wear plate and Strenx® high performance steel.

Popular apps that have been developed and improved in recent years include WearCalc and WeldCalc. With WearCalc, users can compare different Hardox® grades in their specific applications and calculate the increase in life and payload when replacing unalloyed steels with high strength steels. The app can also be used to predict erosion wear, sliding wear and shock wear.

WeldCalc helps to optimize the welding process of Strenx® or Hardox® steel in a safe and intelligent way. The user simply enters the parameters and can quickly see the recommended machine settings, temperatures, line energies and a risk analysis.

Other apps that visitors can find out about at bauma include SSAB EcoUpgraded, SmartSteel and the SSAB App, which offers everything in one app.

For customers who not only want to increase their payload but also reduce their environmental impact, SSAB is launching a new app for SSAB EcoUpgraded customers. The SSAB EcoUpgraded App shows customers how they can help reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption over the life cycle of a product upgraded with high-strength steel. Customers can also choose different options to show the savings during operation or the increase in capacity during operation.

All apps developed by SSAB have intuitive, responsive user interfaces. The apps calculate the results in seconds and present them in an easy-to-understand format. Users can also save, export, or share the results with their colleagues. And the product data displayed to the users in the apps is always up to date.
